Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Shelby Porter, a licensed Esthetician based in Des Moines and the owner of Emerald Elegance, my cozy little corner of the world where beauty and intention meet. With over three years of experience in esthetics, I’ve built my craft around helping others look and feel their best through customized skincare and precise brow and lash artistry — but more than that, through genuine care. I started Emerald Elegance because I wanted to create a space that felt like home — not just for me, but for everyone who walks through the door. Here, every treatment is done with intention. I take the time to understand your skin, your goals, and your comfort so you can truly unwind and feel cared for, inside and out. My specialties include customized facials, brow lamination, brow mapping, hybrid staining, lash/brow tinting, lash lifts, and expert waxing using both soft and hard wax formulated for sensitive skin. Over the years, I’ve worked in various spa settings, refining not only my technical skills but also my ability to connect — to listen deeply and tailor each service to what your skin (and spirit) needs that day. To me, esthetics isn’t just about the surface — it’s about nurturing confidence, slowing down, and reconnecting with yourself. My goal is for every visit to feel like a breath of calm and a reminder that you’re worthy of care.
